The Hermit and His Padi Seeds
Many years ago, there lived a
hermit in a forest of Sumatra. He didn’t grow food but defended on the jungle
fruit to survive. Soon, there was a drought and all the plants and fruits in
the jungle were died.
The old man had nothing to eat
now, so he turned to be a beggar. He went to a nearby village trying to get
some food. At first the villagers were happy to help him. However, when he came
continually, they refused to give him food anymore. They told him to grow his
own food.
One day, while the hermit was
sitting in his hut, sad and hungry, he began to think about growing his own
food. Just then a boatman stopped by. The boatman took pity on the hermit and
gave him some padi seeds.
Before the boatman went away, he said” These
seeds will grow and give you ever lasting harvest if you work very hard. If you
are tired of the work the padi plants will turn into weeds.”
The old hermit worked hard to
clear the land sowed the seeds before the rains came. Strangely, after a short
period of time, the padi was ready to for harvesting. The old man got a lot of
rice from the harvest. After each harvest, the plants grew back again right
away. When the villagers heard about the hermit and his wonderful padi, they
flocked to his padi-field and took some as much as they could.

tired of harvesting the padi that he shouted, “Oh, stop growing, you wretched

In the modern era, technology has developed to
such a certain degree that scientist are able to create new form of life. One
of them is cloning. The debates whether cloning of animals should be allowed or
not seems endless.
Those who agrees of animals cloning usually argue that the cells produced from them can be used to stop animals from
becoming extinct. They also add that cloning has a purpose to produce high
quality of cells
Many species are becoming
rarer. Scientis are concerned If
they don’t do something to save certain
species, these animals will be extinct forever. For this reason , researchers
have improved cloning technology, so that rare species can succesfully cloned.
Not every one is excited about animal cloning . Some
people feel that it could have terrible consecqunces. For example, if
dinosaurus are cloned, then men cuold be extinct. It is clear that these
ferocious beasts cannot live together
with humans. In history, these creatures lived several thousand before men

The Digestive System
Human
body is made up of countless millions of cells. Food is needed to build up new
cells and replace the worn out cells. However, the food that we take must be
changed into substances that can be carried in the blood to the places where
they are needed. This process is called digestion.
